Mercury Analyzers & Mercury Instruments
Industries & Application
Our mercury analyzers are accurate and highly reliable, providing precision measurement across a wide range of industrial applications.
Along with other naturally occurring minerals, mercury can be found in coal in varying concentrations, depending on the source. When combusting coal for energy, mercury is emitted with the flue gas into the atmosphere via its chimney or stack….Read More

If any wastes containing mercury are improperly disposed of with other wastes for incineration, mercury gas is released into our atmosphere in the incinerator flue gas, increasing mercury pollution in our environment.…. Read More
In ASGM activities, metallic mercury is mixed with ore containing traces of gold through the panning process, whole ore amalgamation in sluice boxes, and using ball-mills, trommels, or little rotating drums.….Read More

Generally, all models of our analyzers using the Atomic Absorption (AA) detection technique are capable of detecting down to trace level of sub-parts-per-billion (ppb) levels. While models of Atomic Fluorescence (AF) detection technique, ultra-trace levels of sub-parts-per-trillion (ppt) levels can be achieved.

Yes, all our mercury analyzers are designed and engineered following international regulatory methods like EPA, ASTM, ISO and more. For more information, search our mercury analyzers by methods.
Depending on the sample type and technique of the NIC mercury analyzer, the duration of measuring mercury in a sample can range from 2 to 11 minutes.
For RA Series, certain samples require wet chemical preparation, which will take hours as it follows regulatory methods like EPA and APHA.
NIC has a wide range of mercury analyzers to cater to different types of applications needed. Applications are available for food, household items, biological samples, environmental sample, liquid hydrocarbon, waste, minerals and more. To know more, visit our Application Data Centre.
Yes, NIC RA Series is highly sensitive and specially designed to measure mercury in aqeous samples such as river water, drinking water, seawater and more using the technique of Reducing Vaporization. RA Series has greater performance as it has minimal memory effect, which is prone to happen in measuring total mercury in chemically-digested water samples.
Yes, NIC MA Series is especially ideal in measuring mercury in fish. MA Series uses the Direct Thermal Decomposition technique to measure the sample directly. The measurement can be done within 10 minutes, and there is no wet chemical preparation needed. Check out our Application Notes of Fish & Shellfish.
Scientific publications measuring mercury in fish using the MA-Series Direct Thermal Decomposition technique are also available.
